Our New Home

 LAST UPDATED 30th OCTOBER 2023

Welcome to our new home. In many respects the site is still in development and hopefully there will be lots of improvements as time goes by - but with the season already in progress it was important to provide a vehicle to communicate information as soon as possible. The Knock Out Competition has already been completed and the league season starts on Tuesday 31st October with fixtures as follows

Bfd Deaf Centre A  v   Pudsey A

Bfd Deaf Centre B  v  Pudsey B

Princeville A           v  Princeville D

Princeville C           v  Princeville B

Although the match between Princeville A and Princeville D has been switched to Thursday, to ensure that both teams have a full compliment of players (Oh no - one of the games has now been switched back to Tuesday. Can't keep up!!).

The Handicaps page shows this season's handicaps but any information on the other pages is just for testing purposes at this point. I hope to add more current information soon

Congratulations to Bradford Deaf Centre who retained the Knock Out Competition trophy last week, winning 5 of their 6 matches to accumulate 13 points. Opponents Princeville B went into the fixture with hopes of topping the table still alive, but good wins for Jeremy Dixon and Peter Wood (twice) ensured a comfortable home victory. With 3 players unavailable, including Ihjaz Hussain, the Deaf Centre had to avail themselves of Rule 16, which allows a player to play twice, and Princeville B might have regretted their choice of Peter Wood to do that. Pudsey defeated Princeville A to finish second on 10 points, with Princeville B on 7 while Princeville A failed to gain a single point throughout the entire competition. Princeville A were still in contention this week at the start of the last 2 games against Pudsey, as they were  only 28 points behind, but John and Peter Allan proved too strong for Trevor Kershaw and Peter Turner with the visitors wining by 113.

The highest break in the competition was my 53 (no cigar)

The only players to top 200 were

Richard Bowes 234 & 208 and Mick Cockcroft  210

Highest Aggregate

Jeremy Dixon and Richard Bowes 395

Highest Score plus Handicap

Peter Wood 254

Highest Aggregate plus Handicap

Edward Lawson & Peter Wood 436

I will spare the blushes of those who achieved lowest scores in each of these categories!!.

Good luck to everybody in the league competition and remember that for these matches the handicaps go on the scoreboard at the start of the game
